My local Subaru dealership accidentally put a gash in the sidewall of my old Pilot Alpins while swapping them onto my car for winter and agreed to replace them with a brand new set. Still not sure how they managed to do that, but there was a very clean slice across the side of the tire and about 90% of the way into the tire. I always check my tires for stuff like this before I leave the lot and luckily I caught it this before I had a blowout on the way home.

They saw the color of your car and assumed you were some sort of dealer of drugs and Drug accessories. To their disappointment , they did not find anything in your tires (other than air, presumably).

I feel sorry for the mechanic who went digging in my sidewall. They may have been looking for drug and drug accessories but al l they found was a big pile of “buy the owner new tires”. Now if only they had ruined my worn out summer tires instead o f the snow tiers I only ran for 2 seasons.
